Welcome to the first character highlight post for the upcoming Legends of Evorath series. Book 1, The Shadows of Erathal, launches October 29th, 2024. And to celebrate that upcoming launch, I’ll be highlighting one of the main characters every day leading up to the launch. Each week, I’ll review the format, which will include a starting section about the character and their upbringing. Next, there is a “spec sheet,” akin to a traditional RPG’s character sheet where I lay out all the vitals of a character. Finally, I’ll close out with some more about the character, their interests, hobbies, skills, and other pertinent details.
Who Is Ygabb?
Another character based on a real-life pet, Ygabb is named after one of the first goats we got, and one of our most productive goats here on the homestead. She is a fun-loving and talkative satyr with a passion for friendship and magic. A devoted member of the mage’s guild, Ygabb left her family to join the community of Marftaport, where she feels she’s found a family that better fits her calling in life. She is a powerful mage who spends much of her time studying the arcane arts.

What Makes Her Tick?
Gregarious as they come, the only thing Ygabb loves more than talking is listening to a good story. She believes that a community should function like a family, which is why she spends most of her waking hours at the Mage’s Guild tower. Beyond being an active guild member and powerful mage, Ygabb is always looking for a new adventure.
