Welcome to the first character highlight post for the upcoming Legends of Evorath series. Book 1, The Shadows of Erathal, launches October 29th, 2024. And to celebrate that upcoming launch, I’ll be highlighting one of the main characters every day leading up to the launch. Each week, I’ll review the format, which will include a starting section about the character and their upbringing. Next, there is a “spec sheet,” akin to a traditional RPG’s character sheet where I lay out all the vitals of a character. Finally, I’ll close out with some more about the character, their interests, hobbies, skills, and other pertinent details.
Who Is George?
Husband, father, and student of the mystic arts, George Peterson is a jovial man who wants nothing more than to make Marftaport a place where everyone can thrive. Orphaned as a small child, George and about a dozen other human children were rescued by some of the residents of Marftaport in 1121 MT. As he grew older and began his study about the ether (the space between worlds), he formed a close relationship with one of his fellow survivors. That survivor, Sarah, would later become his wife. Today, George and Sarah have two energetic children, Henry and Elizabeth. They are staples of the Marftaport Mage’s Guild and heavily involved in the community.

What Makes Him Tick?
When it comes to his craft, George is the quintessential specialist. While other mages have more well-rounded abilities, George devotes the vast majority of his time working to better understand the ether. His signature magical ability is tapping into the ether to create portals that can instantly transport people around Evorath. While not honing his magical abilities, he is likely spending time with his family or friends, or helping out with some community need. Though generally light-hearted and easy-going, George will fight passionately to protect those he loves.
