If you have been following me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform (including this website), then you have likely seen me post about an August 16th release for the next book in the series, The Rise of Yezurkstal. After putting this post off for a good month (reason to be explained shortly), I am sorry to say that this release date will be postponed yet again. The truth is, I still haven’t finished my final edits on the book and until I am happy with the end product I cannot send it off to the editor. Furthermore, there is still no cover art for you, which means that this delay was all but inevitable. Of course, before you click on that “X” up in tab and get frustrated thinking I am the next George R.R. Martin, let me assure you that there is some good news to go along with this.
The Legacy of Evorath Joins Free Dragon Press
For over a month now, I have been considering an indie press to help with the release and promotion of my books, and today I am proud to announce that I am moving forward with this arrangement. If you paid attention to such things, you will know that my first book, The Birth of Death, was completely self-published. This means that I wrote the book, paid an editor, hired a cover artist, set up the book online, and dealt with a host of other behind-the-scenes tasks associated with getting the message out there.
Today, I am happy to announce that this will no longer be the case. For the foreseeable future, The Legacy of Evorath book will now be released in cooperation with Free Dragon Press. Though they are a new publishing house, this small, independent platform is sure to help get the message out there without going against my vow to avoid big name publishers. Their team is going to ensure that all my books are of the highest quality, and I very much look forward to working with them.
Re-Release of The Birth of Death
After reading through The Birth of Death, the editors over at Free Dragon Press noticed some mistakes that my original editors didn’t. As a result, they suggest that in lieu of releasing the second book in the series on August 16th, I actually re-release the first book with all of these mistakes fixed. Despite the many stellar reviews, these fixes as well as some rewording to make the book easier to read are sure to make the story even more enjoyable. Not only that, but the new release will hold that pretty FDP logo on it and will include the map of Evorath as well as some appendices for your reference at the end. If you had a copy of the original, this alone might be enough to want to get a new one, but if you loved the story, have a signed copy of the first one, or just don’t want to get this 2nd edition, don’t fret; the story is just what you remember from the 1st edition. But, if you really loved the first one, make sure to tell all your friends about the August 16th date so they can get a copy of the 2nd edition for their own reading pleasure!
What About The Rise of Yezurkstal?
As soon as I complete my work on The Rise of Yezurkstal, I will be working with Free Dragon Press to set up a release date. Hopefully you will have news on this in the next month or two, and the final book release is expected to still occur in 2016. While you wait for that release, make sure to sign up for my email list using the form below. This way, you will receive notice when I post something new here, including some more free shorts that I have planned.
Remember, I couldn’t do this without all you, my dedicated fans. Thank you for your support, and get ready for some more adventures featuring all of your favorite heroes from Evorath!
